Is a Deposit Required?

• Deposits are mandatory for all appointments and can range from $50-$300 depending on size and artist.
• All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.
• Your deposit secures your date and goes towards the final cost of the service.
• For multi-sessional tattoos, the deposit will be held as payment towards the last session.

Your deposit will be forfeited if:
• You cancel (at any time) or reschedule less than 48 hours prior to your appointment.
• There is a no call/no show.
• If you are 15+ minutes late to your appointment (please take into consideration travel time and give the shop a call if you think you’ll be running late).
• If you show up and completely change your tattoo concept.
• You show up with a minor, we cannot have unattended children at the shop.
• You reschedule more than once. The deposits are only transferrable up to one time.

How do I book an appointment?

On the Ink Gallery website, you can click on the “Book Appt” tab and fill out our tattoo request form. Our booking manager will then assist you with setting up an appointment.

A $50-$300 deposit will be required to guarantee any appointment depending on the sizing of the tattoo and artist you book with.

ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE If you reschedule your appointment with enough notice, your deposit is applied towards your new rescheduled appointment. However, if less than 48-hour notice is given or you will have to reschedule a third time, you will lose your deposit and must leave another deposit to reschedule. We are sorry if this policy causes any inconvenience, but it is necessary to protect the interests of our artists—their time and efforts are valuable.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Pricing varies by artist, but our shop minimum is $150. Final price is dependent on size, detail of the design, location on the body where it will be placed, and finally which artist you’ve chosen. Some artists have a different minimum billing, which varies.

How can I get a quote?
Once you have filled out your tattoo request form and have sent any reference photos, we will be able to reach out to you with a quote. The best way to get the most accurate price quote is to be as detailed as possible with your tattoo concept, placement, and size.
Do you accept walk-ins?

Yes, we welcome walk-ins. However, we strongly recommend calling in advance, as most of our artists work by appointment. To ensure an artist is available and to minimize any wait time, please contact us before your visit. 973-901-7771

Do tattoos hurt?
Yes! Everybody has a different pain tolerance so as far as how bad varies from person to person. Nevertheless, there are plenty of people covered with tattoos so it isn’t the worst pain. If this is a big concern, we can recommend our favorite numbing creams sold here at the shop.
How do I care for my tattoos?

Your tattoo artist will give you a basic aftercare guide during your visit, so please follow their instructions.

For the first couple of days, keep your tattoo clean with a mild soap, using a gentle ointment like Aquaphor applied very lightly after the skin is dry.

After 2-3 days, you switch to a fragrance-free lotion instead of an ointment. If you have any signs of scabbing on your new tattoo, be careful to not pick at the scabs—let them fall off naturally.

Continue to use lotion throughout the rest of your healing process (normally a few weeks).

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact your artist..

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept cash, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) Apple Pay and Afterpay. No checks.

How should I prepare for my tattoo?
We recommend that you eat well before you come in, and remember to stay hydrated. It’s best not to drink the night before because alcohol can increase bleeding for up to 24 hours. Blood also dilutes our pigments, affecting both the appearance of your tattoo as well as the healing process. We also recommend you bringing in headphones and wear comfortable clothing. Remember to stay calm and cool, you’re in good hands.
Can I bring my own design?
You can absolutely bring your own design. Your tattoo will be on you permanently, so we want you to get exactly what you’re looking for. Bring anything you think might help to capture exactly what you’re looking to get. This way your artist can design a custom piece of art that you will love forever, regardless if you know exactly what you want or don’t have a clue.
What is the policy for tattooing minors?
Ink Gallery will tattoo minors at 17 years of age with parental consent. Parent or legal guardian (w/Documentation) has to be present with State Issued ID as well as Minor's ID (could be school ID) and the minor’s birth certificate. We are strict in our requirements to ensure proper age and that valid legal parental consent is presented, so please contact the shop directly ahead of time to find out exactly what you will need to bring to your appointment.
Can you coverup an existing tattoo?
Our artists can usually cover up or fix most tattoos, even really bad ones so you would never even know they were there. If we don’t think the tattoo can be successfully covered, we will let you know prior to booking and discuss your alternative options to ensure your happiness. At Ink Gallery, all of our artists take tremendous pride in their work, making client satisfaction our biggest priority.
Does the shop offer piercings or permanent cosmetics?

Yes. We offer both services as well as Teeth Gems. Piercings can be booked on linktr.ee/BlackMoonPiercing (Select the Fairfield Location)

Will I see a design before my appointment?
Our artists typically draw up their designs the night before your appointment or the day of your appointment. It is hard to draw up designs ahead of time since they have to work on their current clients' designs day by day. If you have any questions or concerns about your design you can always stop in a few days before your appointment to ensure the artist knows exactly what you’re looking for.
